Finger lickin good

I suppose we must have a pretty keen sixth sense when it comes to food.  Turned out anyhow walk also can find good food.

We stumbled upon this gem of a place for roast goose while looking for lunch near our hotel.  Chan Kee is one of the oldest restaurants in Sham Tseng and is well known for their roast goose.  In addition to their original shop at Sham Tseng which is a little far out, they’ve opened a branch in the Mongkok area which is great for tourists like us.

I ordered the char siew rice because I sadly cannot resist sweet bbq pork no matter where I go.  It was very good – thick pieces of succulent meat roasted with a sweet, sticky sauce.

The Hubs cleverly went for the special siew ngor bei platter.  At S$15, it was worth every cent.  Crispy skin, oozing layer of fat, tender juicy meat accompanied with a tangy sweet plum sauce, it was no wonder he didn’t want to share and I only managed to snag a couple of bites *wail*
