. It is human nature to wish and hope for good things to come .
“Omikuji are fortune telling paper slips found at many shrines and temples in Japan. Randomly drawn, they contain predictions ranging from daikichi (“great good luck”) to daikyo (“great bad luck”). By tying the piece of paper around a tree’s branch, good fortune will come true or bad fortune can be averted.”

I like the photo! I also saw this in Kyoto.
Thanks! Glad you like it 🙂
I like the idea of tying a piece of paper on a tree for good luck…that plus the lucky dragon year…it’s going to be a lucky 2012….I’m going to try in this week. Thanks.
What a cool idea. We do need a bit of luck everyday. I’m going to try it this week. This plus the lucky dragon year, I hope 2012 is going to be a great year for all.
We sure do 🙂 Wishing that the year of the water dragon brings everyone happiness and good health!
Interesting!! Thanks for Sharing
Thanks for the visit and comment! 🙂
When I went to shrines with my Japanese friend, I was struck by the trees that were almost covered with these “blossoms” of fortune!
That must have been an interesting sight! The one we visited only had a couple of lonely pieces tied to the trees, prompting us to think that those were the ones with bad fortune 🙂
