The first few days of the year have been a blast. We rounded up 2011 with the laughter and good company of close family and friends. I’ve come to realise that as I get older, I’ve become a lot more selective about who I want to spend my time with. Life is short, and it more sense to invest time in those who matter.
And then we started the year wicked. We caught the musical “Wicked” and it was fantastic! It tells of the story and friendship between the misunderstood Wicked Witch of the West and the beautiful blond Good Witch of the North. The sets were amazing with a giant, mechanical dragon with eyes that lit up and bellowed smoke. The cast especially the lead actresses who played the green-skinned Elphaba and air-headed Galinda were very very good. Coupled with a storyline that was refreshing, witty and oh so funny, we had a wonderful time.
The rest of the long weekend was filled with movies, hot chocolate and long walks as we explored new neighborhoods.
So hello 2012. It looks like we’re off to a nice start.
