It only happens once a year

Right now as I am typing this post, the house smells like a mixture of pine fresh and lemon.  Books and DVDs that have been scattered all over the house during the year have now found their spot on the freshly dusted bookcase.  Our floors are clean and there’s potpourri of orange and gold.  I’m loving how squeaky clean everything feels, and the deep sense of calm and peace in the house.

Best of all, I’m loving how in de-cluttering the house, it feels like we’ve freed up our hearts and minds too – of unnecessary burdens and useless junk.  And we’re entering the new year lighter and fresher.  No wonder they call it spring cleaning 🙂
