Little green slab of clay

Today, Google pays tribute to Art Clokey – the guy who created Gumby and friends.  The interactive Google logo is brilliant and incredibly creative – in place of the usual alphabets are little red, yellow and green balls of clay that look suspiciously inanimate.  Click on them and Gumby characters spring to life!

Although I’m a child of the 80s, I never watched Gumby.  I was introduced to this very cute stop motion animation character only in the 90s when I started dating The Hubs who is a fan.  I remember watching Gumby for the first time in the darkened hall of one of the university lecture theatres.  I found the whole date quite romantic *blush* and fell in love with Gumby.  So much so that we included Gumby in our wedding 🙂

Gumby!
He was once a little green slab of clay. Gumby!
You should see what Gumby can do today. Gumby!
He can walk into any book, with his pony pal Pokey, too.
If you’ve got a heart then Gumby’s a part of you.
