Heartlands style

Who needs to pay $70 to watch World Cup when you have your neighbourhood kopitiam?  And all it costs is a cup of teh-o-siew-tai.  If you ask me, I think it’s a lot more fun watching the World Cup with a bunch of uncles and ah-bengs than at home alone.  We caught the Argentina-Nigeria match last night and while I couldn’t hear the commentators on TV, the uncles provided an entertaining running commentary.  Everytime Messi tried to shoot for a goal, the uncles were cheering and everyone was on the edge of their seats.  And when the Nigerian goalkeeper made one outstanding save after another, there were the jeers and the usual calls of "kelong!"  Heh, heh, think most of us in the coffeeshop had our money on Argentina last night. You know what’s the best bit?  When you get hungry, you can order ba chor mee for supper.  Score! *grin*
