There’s no better way to usher in a birthday than with a big, hearty breakfast. And it was the perfect excuse to check out Graze. Nestled in one of those pre-war, colonial, black and white houses in Rochester Park amidst lush, green surroundings, Graze must be one of the loveliest places to start the day. Although it was raining, we had no problems sitting in the sheltered alfresco dining area. In fact, it made for an even more tranquil dining experience – watching the raindrops fall as we sipped our creamy cappuccinos and tucked into breakfast.
The breakfast/brunch menu at Graze is pretty good. Spoilt for choice, I finally settled on the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon and Spinach – there’s something about perfectly poached eggs with the yolk smoothly oozing out that I simply cannot resist. The eggs did not disappoint although the hollandaise sauce wasn’t as rich as I expected. The Hubs tried the Banana Pancakes that came smothered in grilled bananas, walnuts and redcurrent syrup crowned with whipped butter – totally delicious.
It was a happy start to my day and we will definitely be waking up early for more breakfast sessions at Graze.
