Counting down to Easter …

When you see me cooking and baking up a frenzy in the kitchen, it can only mean one thing.  Lent is here again and I have given up shopping for a painfully long 40 days.  With no easy outlet for restless energy and pent up stress, my neighbourhood supermarkets now have me trawling up and down their aisles once again in search of fun things to make.  Anyhoo, I found this recipe for chocolate croissants on-line and it looked so easy that I just had to try it.

This is all you need:

Then all you have to do is: (1) allow your pastry sheet to thaw and cut it up into triangles; (2) chop up your chocolate; (3) place choc at one end of the triangle and roll it up, sprinkling sugar generously so it doesn’t stick.

Next, line them up on a cookie sheet, brush with egg, pop them babies into an oven at 180 degree celsius for about 20 minutes until they turn golden brown and you’ll have warm, buttery, dark chocolate croissants to go with coffee!
