Gong Xi Fa Cai

I don’t think I’ve ever said it but I’m really thankful that my folks and in-laws are easygoing with the Chinese New Year festivities.  This way, we get to celebrate our New Year with the people that really matter.  Life’s too short to do it in any other way.

This year, it was just the two of us in Perth.  The mums were right in deciding not to go – the weather was crazy – thunderstorms one day,  freezing mornings and blindingly hot afternoons the next.  5 days was also way too short to cover Western Australia decently and we’ll probably go back.  But it was a good break with long leisurely drives, good food, walks in the park and great shopping in HabourTown.

Happy Chinese New Year!
