> There is 1 vending machine for every 25 Japanese
> You can buy batteries, beer, fried chicken, cake, cigarettes, comic books, hot dogs, light bulbs, and ice cream from vending machines
> Service while shopping is fantastic. Even a single piece of pastry has to suffer multiple layers of wrapping. Telling the staff to skip the wrapping simply does nothing except stress them out.
> Honeydews really can cost up to SGD$100
> A pet Hercules beetle can cost up to SGD$700
> It’s hard to find a trash bin in public and yet the place is absolutely clean. It also means you have to keep trash in your pockets for a couple of hours.
> Strangely, Pokemon is not as popular in Japan as most believe
